"We at the RAC are excited to be taking part in the Top 50 Call Centres for the second year running. Coming 16th in 2009 was testament to the hard work and commitment of our team and we hope to build on our success from last year. We always strive to offer exceptional customer service and we have focussed on improving our score with a dedicated action plan. We are the driving people going the extra mile for our members "

Jo Hale, Head of RAC Rescue

With around seven million members, RAC is one of the UK's most progressive motoring organisations, providing services for both private and business motorists. Founded in 1897 as The Automobile Club of Great Britain, and granted the Royal title in 1907 by King Edward VII, over the past 113 years we have evolved to the RAC we know today. Whether it's roadside assistance, insurance, vehicle inspections and checks, legal services or up-to-the-minute traffic and travel information - RAC is able to meet motorists' needs.

RAC Rescue Sales & Service is located at a landmark building in Bristol, adjacent to the M4/M5 interchange. The building opened its doors in 1994 and now houses the entire RAC Sales & Service contact centre comprising of some 500 staff. Our job is to service the end to end needs of both our individual and corporate members - from joining, renewing and upgrading, to offering additional services.

RAC is committed to providing the very highest levels of service to its members and has been ranked first for customer satisfaction by J.D. Power and Associates' UK Roadside Assistance Study for the last four years, as well as being named the top organisation for customer service amongst breakdown providers in the July 2009 and January 2010 UK Customer Satisfaction Index from the Institute of Customer Service.
